Before you call

Three things worth trying first

These fix a good share of problems, and they take a couple of minutes.

  1. 1

    Restart the router

Unplug it, wait thirty seconds, plug it back in. Give it two minutes to come back up before testing.

  2. 2

    Test on a second device

If one phone is slow but everything else is fine, the problem is that device rather than the connection.

  3. 3

    Move closer to the router

Wifi weakens through walls and over distance. If speed improves when you stand next to the router, the connection is fine and the wifi coverage is the limitation.

Still not right? Call us and we will test the line.

Common questions

Questions we hear often

My internet is slow. What should I check first?

Restart the router by unplugging it for thirty seconds and plugging it back in. Then test with a device connected by cable if you have one, because wifi can be the bottleneck rather than the connection itself. If it is still slow, call us and we will test the line from our end.

Why is my wifi slower than the speed on my plan?

Your plan speed is what arrives at your home. Wifi then shares that between every device, and it weakens through walls and distance. A device sitting next to the router will see much closer to your plan speed than one two rooms away.

What does symmetrical speed mean?

Your upload speed matches your download speed. A Pim 100 gives you up to 100 Mbps in both directions. Download is what you receive, like streaming. Upload is what you send, like your camera on a video call or a file going to the cloud.

Is there a data cap?

[PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether plans have any data cap, throttling, or fair use limits. If any plan is advertised as unlimited, the CRTC Internet Code requires a published fair use policy.]

How do I pay my bill?

[PLACEHOLDER: confirm payment methods, billing cycle, and whether payment is handled through the client portal or in person.]

What happens if I miss a payment?

[PLACEHOLDER: confirm disconnection terms and notice period. The CRTC Internet Code sets requirements here and this answer must match the customer contract.]
